In May, Scott removed the
intercooler and installed a Boost
Cooler® water/methanol injection
system in order to save weight and
add power – the results were
tremendous. In Scott’s words:
5/19/04 We ran the car Wednesday
night to test out the new fuel
supply system and the removal of the
intercooler. We liked the
temperature drop of the intercooler,
but the weight and the air
restriction was not helping us. We
installed a Snow Performance Boost
Cooler™ in the car instead to cool
the air, but left it off for the
baseline testing. It is a well built
piece, and Matt Snow, the owner of
Snow performance is great to work
with. We will test it Sunday at the
Mopar on Thunder Mountain here in
Denver at Bandimere speedway
11/15/04 We did it. Earlier this
year, we set the record at 8.75
seconds in the quarter mile with our
Cummins ISB powered dragster.
Recently a competitor reset it to
8.72. We had to get that record
back.
Dustin and I traveled to Pomona
California for the 40th anniversary
of the NHRA World Finals. On
Wednesday at the High School and
Vortech day, we broke the
transmission during the burnout. We
could not run. We repaired the
damage to the transmission on
Thursday, and did what break-in and
testing we could in the pits. We
showed the car Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday until 4PM. We then rolled up
in front of the crowd, right ahead
of the final round of Top Fuel, laid
down our most beautiful run ever,
7.98 at 167 MPH. First one ever into
the 8's, and now first to the 7's.
And yes, we have a few tricks left.
