Toyota WRC has decided to call it a day and pulled out of the WRC championship after the 1999 season after claiming the "1999 manufacturers title" with just four points ahead of their closest rival Subaru Impreza.
For the next couple of years, Toyota will be making its first debute into the world of Formula 1. For the Guys at TTE (Team Toyota Europe) who has created 43 wins and three constructors titles for the past 27 years for Toyota are embracing this once in a lifetime opportunity and will be counting the days.
We will just have a last view of the engine bay - from reliable sources, the engine was said to be running a compression ratio of 10:1, boost pressure was peaking just below 2 bar, Denzo based water injection system was supplying a water/fuel ratio of 25% !!!
Spanish driver Carlos Sainz has since joint the Ford team along side of Collin McRae. It will be interesting to how the two top drivers will work along side each other. Malcolm Wilson, the team boss said that there will not be any team orders, both drivers are capable of scoring heavily for Ford. Can't wait for the internal politics.
